I had so much fun holding my first ever market! But I must admit I was absolutely terrified and working endlessly to bake it all the day before. I kept doubting myself over and over and constantly asking my husband “is there any point?”, “Will anyone show up?”, “Will they like this?”, “What if nothing sells?”, “Will I enjoy it? Or will I just be stressed the whole time?!” – Well let me tell you, first and foremost, I enjoyed every second of it! Secondly so many people showed up. The amount of people who bought a cake meant everything and also familiar faces who showed up too and said “I saw your post about the market and I just had to come down and get one of your cakes!!” this brought so much joy, it was really a huge and uplifting confidence boost. After all the doubting and worry, every single person took all my stresses away that came and bought some cakes or even just to come over and say hello😊. It then turned out we sold out by lunchtime!! And note to self for future markets – MAKE.MORE.BROWNIES!!!! What a sell out they were alone!
From this success, I have booked not one but two tables at the stall for this years Christmas market and I will be making sure I make a ton of brownies above all the other favourites. This will take place at Crispin Hall, Street, Somerset, Saturday 2nd December 2023.
